Golf: Davis Love recovering from kidney stone surgery

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Davis Love III is recovering after undergoing kidney stone surgery.Love, who won last year at the Forest Oaks Country Club course he helped renovate, withdrew from the Wyndham Championship field earlier this week because of the ailment.
Officials at a hospital in Brunswick, Ga., where the surgery was performed Friday said it was a brief procedure. Love was released and expects to play at The Barclays next weekend, the first event of the four-week FedEx Cup playoffs.
"Except for feeling like I've been punched in the side, I feel fine," Love said in a statement issued by the PGA. "The doctor said I can begin chipping and putting in the next day or so and should be taking full swings early next week. I should be ready to play next week."
