Spectator cards part of Mililani's character ed program

Advertiser Staff

Fans at tonight's Castle-Mililani football game will have more than food and drinks on their hands.

As part of Mililani High School's Character Education and Sportsmanship Initiative, fans will receive a spectator card which discusses roles they can play in fostering positive sportsmanship.

Trojan coaches will be trained on six core values of character education — trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship — this year. Coaches and all athletes will also receive a character education card which discusses how the six values relate to athletics.

Mililani will also honor retired athletic director John Kauinana tonight by re-naming the field after him.
