Special police training at Kauai school today

The Kaua'i Police Department's Special Services Team will be conducting special training operations at Kapa'a High School from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.

Police are alerting the area that they may see or hear the following activities:

  • Loud noises, such as bangs from simulated gunfire

  • Yelling and screaming

  • High school-age children running around on the campus

  • Police officers with firearms and tactical gear

  • Kaua'i Fire Department and other emergency vehicles and personnel

  • Media personnel with cameras

    Police are asking the public to stay off school grounds during the training. Do not stand or stop in the streets and roadways surrounding the school.
