PEARL CITY
Portuguese fest at Sam's Club

Advertiser Staff

The third annual Taste of Portugal festival takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 25 in front of the Sam's Club at the Pearl Highlands Center in Pearl City.

The festival is presented by the Nova Esperan'a Club, which is dedicated to perpetuating the Portuguese culture in Hawai'i by sharing foods and customs with the community.

Portuguese food, including bean soup, malassadas and Portuguese sausage hot dogs, will be available outside the store entrance, as will crafts.

There will also be cultural displays, informational handouts and genealogy experts to help those needing help tracing their family roots.
