Volunteers are being sought to help improve Kane'ohe's Waikalua Loko Fishpond from 8 a.m. to noon Aug. 25.

The fishpond, behind the Bay View Golf Course on Kane'ohe Bay Drive, is considered one of the cultural treasures of Windward O'ahu. Volunteers have been meeting quarterly to clean up and repair the fishpond built by long-ago Hawaiians.

The cleanups are sponsored by the Waikalua Loko Fishpond Preservation Society.
