Warriors ranked No. 23 in AP preseason football poll

The University of Hawai'i football team is ranked No. 23 in the Associated Press Top 25 preseason poll, released today.

Southern Cal is ranked No. 1, followed by LSU, West Virginia, Texas and Michigan. UH's Western Athletic Conference rival Boise State is No. 24.

Hawai'i was ranked No. 24 in the USA Today's coaches preseason poll released earlier. The Warriors finished No. 24 in the USA Today poll and was unranked in the AP poll last season.

It is the first time the Warriors have been ranked in the AP preseason poll, voted on by sports writers and sportscasters.

The Warriors open their season Sept. 1 against Northern Colorado at Aloha Stadium.
