Woman arrested after allegedly hitting man with pipe

A 36-year-old woman who allegedly assaulted a 68-year-old man with a metal pipe was being held on a possible assault charge yesterday.Police say the argument began when the man approached the woman about a pending civil matter on Kamehameha Highway near La'ie. The argument escalated, though, when she hit him with the pipe and cut his head. She then used the same pipe to damage the man's car, police said.
The woman was arrested when police arrived at the scene about 7:15 a.m.
