Bown, Ah Mow-Santos help U.S. women in victory

University of Hawai'i alum Heather Bown had five blocks, four kills and two aces to help the United States women's national team to an 18-25, 25-21, 25-23, 22-25, 15-13 victory over Cuba in pool play of the FIVB World Grand Prix today at the Macau Forum in Macau, China.

Setter Robyn Ah Mow-Santos, another UH alum, contributed one block and 42 assists.

Kim Glass led Team USA with 15 kills, three aces and a block.

The United States (5-3) plays the Netherlands (5-3) in the final day of pool play tomorrow.

The finals start Aug. 22 in Ningbo, China.
