TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE:

"Masters of Science Fiction," 9 p.m., ABC. Somewhere in the future, robots serve as mine-sweepers and survivors are exterminated. Now, however, a super-rich woman is adopting one. The story is flawed, with a so-so ending. It does hit some satiric targets, however, and gets good work from Anne Heche and Malcolm McDowell.

OF NOTE

"Scent of a Woman" (1992, AMC), "Pulp Fiction" (1994, Bravo) or "Forrest Gump" (1994, TNT), all at 5 p.m. It's another fine Saturday for movies. For an interesting weekend, watch "Scent" tonight, with Chris O'Donnell in wide-eyed support of Al Pacino's brilliant, Oscar-winning performance. Then catch O'Donnell tomorrow, as a wizened old spy in the finale of "The Company."

"Murder 101: If Wishes Were orses," 6 p.m., Hallmark Channel. Dick Van Dyke plays a college professor who catches crooks. A champion racehorse has been stolen.

"Pan's Labyrinth" (2006), 7 p.m., Cinemax. Here's the pay-cable debut of this story of a little girl, surrounded by war, who slips into fantasy. The film won Academy Awards for its cinematography, makeup and art direction; it was also nominated for its script, its score and as best foreign-language film.

"Win a Date with Tad Hamilton" (2004), 7 p.m., ABC. Kate Bosworth plays a sweet young woman from West Virginia, in a rare state of excess: She's won a date with a movie star (Josh Duhamel of "Las Vegas"); also, her friend (Topher Grace of "That '70s Show") secretly loves her.

Gymnastics, 7 p.m. NBC. Here's the first night of the women's U.S. championships. It concludes tomorrow.

"High School Musical 2," 8 p.m., Disney Channel. If you missed the debut Friday, don't worry; the film reruns today and tomorrow. It starts with a vibrant school-is-out number, then whisks everyone to jobs at the country club. The story is weak, but the songs and choreography are infectious.

"Saturday Night's Main Event," 10:30 p.m., NBC. Sorry, no "Saturday Night Live" tonight; the wrestlers take over.
