O'ahu riders are cleaning their tack and grooming their horses in preparation for the Hawaii Horse Show Association's Oahu Hunter Show from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Circle C Equestrian Center in Waimanalo.

The show features multiple levels of hunter/jumper classes, which will be scored by guest judge John McQueen from Calhoun, La.

During the lunch break, the event will also feature a special "wire" performance by Andrea Herndon. Mounted on the horse Hammy, she will run through a hunter course without a saddle or bridle — she uses her voice, legs, seat and a thin wire that graces the horse's neck. The show is free to viewers.

Circle C Equestrian Center: 41-539 Makakalo St. (entrance on Mokulama Street). Directions: On Kalaniana'ole Highway, coming from Kailua, turn right at Po'alima Street, bear left onto Hihimanu Street and take the second right onto Mokulama Street. The ranch entrance is halfway down the street on the left.
