Man charged with identity, fertilizer thefts

A 37-year-old man was charged with third-degree theft and unauthorized possession of confidential information stemming from his arrest Saturday for attempting to steal fertilizer.

Sebastian Alexander Monis, who has no permanent local address, was allegedly a passenger in a vehicle loaded with stolen fertlizer from an 'Ewa farm when he was arrested at 4 p.m.

The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

The third-degree theft charge is connected to the fertilizer case.

While being booked, Monis was allegedly in possession of an identity card belonging to a 50-year-old woman.

Monis, who has six prior convictions, is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
