Firefighters keeping watch on Waialua fire

The 7,000-acre Waialua brushfire remains 100 percent contained but Honolulu firefighters want to wait until tomorrow before declaring it out.A tree that caught fire on the side of the road near the University of Hawai'i's Experimental Farm today was extinguished but is an example of areas "that will attract attention because they're producing smoke," said HFD Capt. Terry Seelig.
