New teen clinic open bimonthly

Advertiser Staff

The Ko'olauloa Community Health & Wellness Center has opened a Teen Health Issues & Counseling Clinic from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.

The confidential and private appointments for teenagers 14 years and older focus on family planning, but the clinic also helps youths with other medical and mental issues.

The clinic, serving youths from Kualoa to Waimea, opened in April and is operated by health educator Yavette Charles and a nurse practitioner. Teens can call the center at 293-9216 for an appointment, or call Charles at 699-8151, or just drop in at the center, 56-565 Kamehameha Highway.
