DOT meeting set to address Waimanalo median project

Advertiser Staff

The state Department of Transportation is holding a public meeting next month to discuss a median improvement project along Kalaniana'ole Highway in Waimanalo.

The meeting will be held 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Waimanalo Public Library.

The purpose is to inform the community of the design status of Phase 1 of the project, which stretches from Olomana Golf Course to Waimanalo Beach Park.

Representatives from the DOT Highways Division and the design consultant on the project will be available to answer questions.

Previously, seven public informational meetings were held to discuss project planning. The last one was held on June 30, 2004.

Since the last meeting, the Environmental Assessment/Finding of No Significant Impact was issued, and design of the first phase was initiated.

For more information, call Vincent Llorin at 692-7568.

Anyone in need of special accessibility or communication accommodations should contact Llorin by Sept. 4.
