New governor's Lanai advisory group meets next week

The Governor's Lana'i Community Advisory Council will hold its first meeting at 5 p.m. Aug. 28 at the Lana'i Senior Center, 309 Seventh St., Lana'i City.The meeting will introduce the new council to the community. The public is invited to attend.
Gov. Linda Lingle created community advisory councils in an effort to give the Neighbor Islands a stronger voice in state government. The Lana'i Community Advisory Council will hold monthly public meetings on the fourth Tuesday of each month to seek community input and advise the governor of important issues on Lana'i. The council will also identify spending priorities and recommend potential nominees for state boards and commissions.
Members of the Governor's Lana'i Community Advisory Council are: Christine Costales, Darlene Endrina, Michael Lopez, Matthew Mano and Douglas Rolefson.
