KAILUA, KONA
Motorists advised of work

Advertiser Staff

The Department of Public Works is installing a right-turn lane and streetlight at the top of Ka'iminani Drive where it intersects with Mamalahoa Highway.

The $1 million project, meant to improve the flow of traffic on West Hawai'i's busy roads, is expected to be completed in the last quarter of 2007, officials said.

Two lanes will be open to motorists during roadwork, which will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.

Road resurfacing and relocating of utility poles may be done on the weekends.
