HAWAI'I KAI
Blowhole plans to be discussed

Advertiser Staff

The city's plans to repair and renovate the visitor lookout and parking area at Halona Blowhole will be discussed at a public hearing at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 21 at Koko Head District Park on the city's application for a major special management area use permit.

Plans call for repairing and rebuilding the viewing areas, and demolishing and rebuilding the lower viewing area that has been closed since 1997 for safety reasons. Americans with Disabilities Act improvements also will be built into the renovations proposed by the city's Department of Design and Construction.
