Advertiser Staff

Police arrested two men for questioning about the beating of a man early today in Waikiki.

The men, ages 24 of Kapolei and 25 from Halawa, were arrested at 5 a.m. at 205 Lewers St. after being identified in a field lineup by the 23-year-old complainant, police said.

The complainant told police he was walking in Waikiki at about 4:20 a.m. when the two men came up from behind and attacked him.

The Kapolei man allegedly punched him in the face and pinned him on the ground while the Halawa man kicked him in the ribs. The victim suffered a facial fracture near his left eye, police said.

The two men were arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault. The Kapolei man was also booked for allegedly threatening to kill the victim.
