UH regents council meetings continue

The University of Hawai'i's Board of Regents Advisory Council's series of public meetings on proposed rules and procedures for nominating candidates to the boards continues on Maui tonight.The meeting is from 5 to 7 p.m. at Maui Community College, Laulima Room 105, 310 W. Kaahumanu Ave., Kahului.

The council is responsible for compiling a list of qualified candidates and presenting it to the governor, who will nominate and appoint replacement members of the Board of Regents, with the consent of the state Senate.
The first step in the process is establishing the guidelines by which Board of Regents members can be nominated. Draft documents prepared by the council are available at www.hawaii.edu/rcac or by calling 808-692-1218.
