Horizon Lines buys Aero Logistics to help expand services

Horizon Lines Inc., the operator of 21 U.S.-flag vessels in service to Hawai'i, Alaska, Guam, Micronesia and Puerto Rico, said its acquired Aero Logistics, a South San Francisco, Calif.-based company offering an array of transportation services and logistics solutions. Terms were not disclosed.Horizon Lines last week announced it had formed a unit to handle its growing logistics services business. Aero also operates a fleet of GPS-equipped trailers in providing expedited trucking services throughout North America and Mexico.
