Series of siren tests in Moanalua Valley today

Advertiser Staff

The city's department of Emergency Management, along with state Civil Defense, will be conducting tests of a new emergency siren in Moanalua Valley today between 1:30 and 3 p.m.

Residents may hear several testings, lasting 20 to 30 seconds each.

The sirens are the newest to be installed and are part of a statewide system upgrade. The siren is solar powered and operates independently of O'ahu's power grid.
