Honolulu drops one spot in television market rankings

Advertiser Staff

Honolulu fell one spot in Nielsen Media Research's latest rankings of the largest television markets, with its 424,010 television households making it the 73rd biggest market in the country.

Honolulu placed behind Toledo, Ohio, and ahead of Springfield, Mo., in the rankings.

While not among the top markets overall, Honolulu has in the past done well in Nielsen's rankings of Asian-American markets. Last year it ranked as the fourth-largest behind Los Angeles, New York and the San Francisco Bay area.

New York ranked as the largest television market in the nation with an estimated 7.39 million television homes. Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Dallas-Ft. Worth rounded out the top five markets.
