Ethno-Botanical Healing Arts Festival set Saturday

Advertiser Staff

The Ethno-Botanical Healing Arts Festival has added a new feature — a meditation labyrinth — to Saturday's event at The Hawai'i Healing Garden in Waimea Valley.

Sponsors said that walking a labyrinth is different than walking a maze. This 40-foot diameter labyrinth pattern provides a path to the center and back out again without obatacles which offers "many beneficial attributes leading to greater balance and harmony both internally andexternally."

The cost for festival entry is $5 for adults, children, 13 and under are free. The labyrinth will feature guitarist Michael Tanenbaum who will be playing at the site from 2-4 p.m..

The Hawaii Healing Garden - Statewide Festivals celebrate the multi-cultural medicinal and nutritional plants of Hawaii. Polynesian, Hawaiian, Ayurvedic, Chinese, Filipino, cultural practitioners and ethno-botanists, will share their knowledge of Hawaii's botanical treasures.

These include lectures, tours, workshops, adult and children's programs, a Healing Arts Fair and cultural entertainment.
