HGEA to host family Kaneohe 'Day to Discover' event

Advertiser Staff

The Hawai'i Government Employees Association will this Saturday host a "Day to Discover" in Kane'ohe.

The family-oriented event — set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Benjamin Parker Elementary School, 45-259 Waikalua Road — intends to provide the public with a glimpse of various types of work performed by state and city employees. HGEA has held similar events in Makakilo and Mililani.

It will include more than 20 exhibits and activities.

Event highlights include: "Creepy Critters" by Hawaii State Vector Control; "Germ City," Hawaii Department of Health; and "Kiddie Portraits," Honolulu Police Department (sketch artist); and "Storm Water Solutions" by City & County Environmental Services, Storm Water Quality Branch.
