Big wave surfer Kohl Christensen of Waialua and champion junior surfer Kekoa Cazimero of Waimanalo have signed endorsement/sponsorship agreements with EX Drinks U.S., LLC (EXDUS) of Orange, Calif., the energy drink company said in a news release this morning.

"We are thrilled to join up with these two outstanding athletes — serious surfers and rising stars who recognize the obvious benefits of our beverages over industry-leading energy drinks containing megadoses of caffeine, vitamins, processed sugar and taurine," said Corey Namba, a Partner and Promotions Manager for EXDUS.

Namba lives in Hale'iwa.

Christensen, 30, has been an avid surfer for more than two decades, regularly surfing waves in the 20- to 25-foot range. He's also surfed big waves in Australia, Chile, Indonesia, Mexico, Peru, Tahiti and other South Pacific islands.

Cazimero, who turned 18 in June, recently graduated from Kaiser High School in Hawai'i Kai, where he was valedictorian in a class of more than 400 students.

He won the Open Title in the National Scholastic Surfing Association event in San Clemente, Calif., in 2006 and is delaying college for now to turn pro.
