HPU in Princeton Review's 'Best in the West' ranking

Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i Pacific University has been named one of the 123 best Western colleges in the United States, according to The Princeton Review, and is ranked among the nation's best colleges and universities, according to the 2008 edition of U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Colleges," which is posted on the magazine's Web page (www.usnews.com). HPU is featured in the "Best Colleges: Region by Region" section of PrincetonReview.com, receiving the "Best in the West" designation.

Earlier in the year, HPU was also named one of the best overall values among the most academically outstanding colleges in the nation, according to The Princeton Review 2007 edition guidebook, "America's Best Value Colleges."

To be listed, colleges and universities needed to meet the publisher's standards for academic excellence within their region. Also, student input played an important factor in the college selections. Students were asked to rate their schools by academics, admission, financial aid, quality of life and student body. The Princeton Review conducted an 80-question survey, asking 120,000 students at 654 colleges across the country to rate their schools and report on their campus experiences. The Princeton Review categorizes the schools into 62 different ranking lists.
