This month's free Artlunch lecture is entitled Waikiki: A History of Forgetting and Remembering. Gaye Chan will present a history of Waikiki through archival photographs. The Hong Kong-born Chan immigrated to the United States in 1969 and is currently a professor at and Chair of the University of Hawai'i at Manoa Department of Art and Art History. Her work has been exhibited internationally, and she is recognized equally for her individual and collaborative work. She was a recipient of the SFCA Individual Artist Fellowship Award in Visual Art in 1998.
