Running clinics for kids set

 •  Olomana's trio of peaks are difficult to conquer

Niketown will hold a series of free running clinics leading up to its Niketown 5K for Kids on Sept. 23.

The classes will be Sept. 8, 15 and 22 at Niketown in Waikiki from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Kids under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to walk or run 1 or 3 miles with the clinic. They must also sign a running club waiver form.

The registration deadline for the 5K is Sept. 10.

There is a $20 fee for the race and the field is limited to the first 8,000.

WOMEN'S POLO ON TAP

The United States Polo Association Women's Challenge Cup will be at the Hawaii Polo Club in Mokule'ia Sunday at 2 p.m.

Gates will open at 11 a.m. and admission will be charged. For more information, call 637-8401.

FLAG FOOTBALL TRYOUTS

The registration deadline for the Boys & Girls Club flag football league is Aug. 31, with tryouts set for Sept. 4 to 7.

The league is open to boys and girls, ages 7 to 12. The fee is $1.

VOLLEYBALL IN KAILUA

The entry deadline for the Labor Day Four-Man Grass Volleyball Tournament is Aug. 31.

The tournament will be Sept. 3 at 9 a.m. at Kailua Beach Park.

There will be upper and lower divisions for men and women.

The cost is $60 per team.
