Fire damages studio apartment in Wailua area of Kauai

WAILUA – A studio apartment attached to a home on Kipapa Road in Wailua Homesteads was damaged by fire Friday afternoon. No one was home at the time of the fire.The fire was reported at 3:30 p.m., declared under control at 4 p.m. and fully extinguished 10 minutes later
Damage to the 500-square-foot structure and its contents is estimated to be $18,000.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
