Police investigating Kalihi beating as attempted murder

Honolulu police are investigating a beating early yesterday morning in Kalihi as an attempted murder.A man, 46, flagged down a patrol officer at 3:05 a.m. and was later taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition with multiple facial fractures, police said.
A second man, 41, was also taken to Queen's. His condition is unknown, police said today.
The victim who stopped the officer said the two men were beaten by seven to nine men.
Police today declined to release information on where the beating took place and had made no arrests.
