6.0 earthquake rumbles through Tonga this morning

A moderate earthquake rumbled through Tonga at about 2:35 a.m. this morning, Hawaii time.

The quake was assigned a preliminary magnitude of 6.0 by the U.S. Geological Survey Earthquake Center, but there were no immediate reports of injury or damage.

The temblor's epicenter was reported to be about 105 miles south-southwest of Hihifo, Tonga, at a depth of 81 miles.
