Korean Film Council to take part in UH-Manoa event

Advertiser Staff

A master class, with Korean film technicians, will be open to the public at 3 p.m. Friday at Crawford Hall room 115 on the University of Hawai'i-Manoa campus.

The UH's Academy for Creative Media and the Korean Film Council are presenting the class, which will feature Jonathan H. Kim, producer of "Silmido" and "Virgin Snow"; Jooick Lee, CEO of Boram Entertainment and producer of Seven Swords; and Denise Hwang, Korean Film Council International department manager.

ACM partners with the Korean Film Council for their annual Filmmakers' Development Lab and UH Master Class. The lab offered the opportunity for five emerging filmmakers of Korean descent to work with mentors and present their projects in New York and Korea.

The Master Class, on the emerging joint productions of the Korean Film Industry in Japan, China and the United States, is supported by a grant from the Jay Shidler Family Foundation.
