Japanese festival coming Sept. 29

The Kaua'i Japanese Cultural Society will present a Japanese cultural festival, Matsuri Kaua'i 2007, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 29 at the Kaua'i War Memorial Convention Hall.

The affair is free and open to the public.

It will include flower arranging, calligraphy, ink- brush art, oshie, pressed flower art, bonsai planting, folk music, martial arts and mochi making, as well as folk dance, karaoke, taiko drumming and a mini bon dance.

The Japanese enka/pop dance group Byodan Masafuji, from Tokyo, and children from the Hanayagi School from Honolulu, will perform.
