New traffic signal in Maui to start tomorrow

The Maui News

KAHULUI – New traffic signals in Waikapu are scheduled to go into service Wednesday, while a primary service road in Kahului will be closed for roadwork, The Maui News reported.

According to notices filed this week, new traffic signals at Honoapiilani Highway and Pilikana Place will begin full operations Wednesday. The signals for the access road to the Waiolani subdivision were to begin a flashing phase Monday while technicians checked the equipment.

In Kahului, a notice to motorists was posted by E&B Plumbing Inc., noting that it will work on Hoohana Street near the Kahului Safeway market. The road will be closed Wednesday between East Kamehameha Avenue and Kalepa Place.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution in the two areas.
