Warm, humid days sticking around this week on Oahu

It's likely to be on the warm side — and a bit sticky as well — until the latter part of this week, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The trade winds will return slowly as a high pressure system heads toward the Islands from the north, forecasters said.

The trades will be light through tomorrow but are expected to reach moderate levels later in the week.

Clouds and showers will favor Windward and mauka areas.

Here's what to expect during the next few days:

  • Today — Sunny with isolated showers. Highs 83 degrees to 89 degrees. East winds,10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Tonight — Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 68 degrees to 76 degrees. Northeast winds, 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Tomorrow — Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 82 degrees to 89 degrees. East winds, 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Tomorrow night — partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows 67 degrees to 75 degrees. Northeast winds, 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Thursday — Mostly sunny with isolated showers. Highs 83 degrees to 89 degrees. East winds, 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.

  • Thursday night — Partly cloudy with isolated showers. Lows, 67 degrees to 75 degrees. Northeast winds, 10 mph to 15 mph. Chance of rain: 20 percent.
