Husband arrested in purse-snatching case

A 26-year-old Hawai'i Kai man was arrested last night after allegedly stealing cash from his wife's purse.

Police were told the two were heading home after dinner and a few drinks when they got into an argument because the husband wanted to continue drinking.

When the wife declined, the husband got upset, took her purse and ran away, police were told.

The wife, 24, told responding police officers that she had more than $300 in the purse.

Police reported finding the husband nearby, but not the money. He was arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft and also on a contempt of court warrant.

Estranged husband arrested after traffic stop

A 32-year-old Kane'ohe man was arrested in the Ke'eaumoku Street area early this morning after his wife accused him of stealing her car yesterday.

Police said the man was pulled over during a routine traffic stop about 12:30 a.m. when an officer noticed the car had been reported stolen.

Police said the man's wife was called to the scene where she found her estranged husband sitting in her car with a 23-year-old woman.

The wife, 33, told police she wanted to withdraw her car theft complaint, but the husband was arrested on suspicion of driving without a license.

His companion, who gave a Kalihi address, was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.

Couple arrested in package theft incident

A man and a woman were arrested last night after police allegedly saw the pair working together to steal a package out of a car that was parked in the lot of a Ward Avenue business.

Police said officers had staked out the parking lot and watched as the man reached into the car and then instructed the woman who was behind the wheel of another car to drive over to where he was.

The officers reported seeing the man, 27, take a package out of the first car before jumping into the waiting vehicle.

The man and the woman, 23, who was driving the second car were arrested nearby on suspicion of felony unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle.

Girl, 12, arrested in threat incident

Police arrested a 12-year-old Kane'ohe girl yesterday after she allegedly threatened to stab her sister, 17.

Police were told the two girls were arguing when the younger one ran to the kitchen, grabbed knife and threatened to kill the older girl.

Police were called to the home and arrested the younger girl on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
