IRS warns taxpayers about new scam e-mail

The Internal Revenue Service warned consumers of a new e-mail scam that looks as if it was sent by the IRS and promises recipients they'll get $80 for taking an online customer satisfaction survey.The e-mail promises recipients they'll receive an $80 credit toward their taxpayer account and includes questions asking the person's name, telephone number and credit card information.
The IRS said it does not send unsolicited e-mail and never asks taxpayers for PIN numbers, passwords or financial account information.
