Jewish leader, fomer cab driver to give interfaith talks

Gregg Kinkley will discuss "Why I Became a Jew" and the Rev. Cloudia Charters will talk about "Aloha, Where you Go? " at this month's Interfaith Open Table.

Kinkley currently serves as a state deputy attorney general and is currently the chair of the Ritual Committee at Sof Ma'arav, Hawaii's only conservative Jewish congregation.

Charters, a novelist and inter-denominational minister, was a Charley's Taxi cab owner/driver when she first came to Hawai'i more than 20 years ago. Cloudia will read passages from the book.

The interfaith group meets 7 a.m. Sept. 12 at Temple Emanu-el, 2550 Pali Highway.
