KHON2 weekend anchor moves to weekdays

Advertiser Staff

Starting Monday, KHON2 Weekend News anchor Jai Cunningham will join the KHON2 Hawaii at Five newscast as co-anchor with Tannya Joaquin.

"I look forward to working along side Tannya Joaquin to give the people of Hawaii the very best news product available," Cunningham said in a released statement yesterday. "I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to co-anchor the KHON2 News Hawaii at Five."

Cunningham takes over for Ron Mizutani, who left to work in the private sector.

Cunningham started full time at KHON2 in August 1992. He began his career as a sports reporter, and spent several years later as the weekend sports anchor, eventually moving into the sports director position for nearly a year.

In April 2003, he moved to the news department as the KHON2 Weekend News anchor. Cunningham graduated from the University of Hawai'i with a bachelor's in journalism and a minor in American Studies.
