The Hawaii Athletic League of Scholars is recruiting youths 12-14 to play for the Kapolei Storms tackle football team.

The league is described as a nonprofit "prep" league. There is no weight limit.

Registrations are being taken through Sept. 8.

The season runs six games, with two possible playoff games, through December. The league stresses academics, and students must meet minimum grade requirements in order to play.

The league expects to play a spring schedule as well.
