If you see that couple from "The Holiday" on the shores of O'ahu, they just might be Cameron Diaz and Jude Law.

Diaz — until recently in a relationship with singer John Mayer, after parting with longtime beau Justin Timberlake — apparently is heading to Hawai'i with Law, her co-star of "The Holiday," for a two-week stay at an undisclosed beachfront villa.

So reports The Sunday Mirror, which said the Hawai'i holiday is "a chance for them to get to know each other to see if they want to get together."

Diaz has been to Honolulu many times, at the height of her Timberlake romance, and has taken surfing lessons here.

POSH SPICE WILL TRY ACTING HAND

LOS ANGELES — Victoria Beckham, now living in Los Angeles, is going Hollywood.

Despite her recent denials about being interested in an acting career, Beckham, aka Posh Spice, is taking a first step by playing herself on an episode of the ABC comedy "Ugly Betty" this coming TV season.

In announcing the casting yesterday, the network said Beckham will play a celebrity bridesmaid at the wedding of Wilhelmina Slater (Vanessa Williams) and publisher Bradford Meade (Alan Dale).

Posh moved from England to L.A. in July after her soccer-star husband, David, signed a five-year contract to play for the Galaxy of Major League Soccer.

DIANA PHOTO TO BE AUCTIONED

LONDON — Mario Testino will auction a signed photo of Princess Diana to raise money for victims of the recent earthquake in his homeland of Peru.

His photo, which shows a smiling Diana wearing a black dress, first appeared in Vanity Fair magazine in 1997. The image was used on invitations to the recent Wembley Stadium concert organized by Prince Harry and Prince William to honor their mother's memory.

Diana died in a Paris car crash on Aug. 31, 1997. A memorial service was to be held in London today to mark the 10th anniversary of her death.

The auction will be Nov. 20 in London by Phillips de Pury & Co. Proceeds will go to the Save the Children charity.

LETTERMAN TO JOIN WINFREY

CHICAGO — Feud? What feud?

David Letterman will make his first appearance on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" next month, another sign the talk-show titans have buried the hatchet after a rift that lasted more than a decade.

Letterman will tape the interview, a rare appearance on someone else's show, on Sept. 10 at Madison Square Garden in New York, Winfrey's production company announced Wednesday.

Letterman frequently joked about Winfrey, and she rejected repeated offers to appear on his program. In 2003, Winfrey told Time magazine she wouldn't appear with Letterman because she had been "completely uncomfortable" as the target of his jokes.
