High-surf warnings posted on Oahu's north, west shores

Advertiser Staff

A high-surf warning remains in effect for north- and west-facing shores on O'ahu, the National Weather Service said.

Surf along north-facing shores was expected to build to heights of 20 to 25 feet over night, and continue through today, forecasters said.

Surf along west-facing shores was expected to climb to 15 to 20 feet during the night and to continue at that level throughout the day.

Surf along east-facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet today while surf along south-facing shores is expected to be 3 feet or less.

A series of northwest swells will keep surf heights at or near the high-surf warning threshold along north and west shores from this weekend through Wednesday. Surf will remain near the warning threshold along north-facing shores Thursday when a new north swell arrives.
