Donate a toy, get a free ride or snack on TheBoat

Advertiser Staff

From Dec. 3 to 14, TheBoat will accept Toys for Tots donations of new, unwrapped toys from riders.

In return, TheBoat will give each donor a ticket good for either a future ride on TheBoat, including the F-shuttle buses, or a beverage and a snack item on TheBoat.

The City will also have a Toys for Tots collection box in the Honolulu Hale Courtyard from December 1 to 16 for donors viewing the Honolulu City Lights displays.

"At this time of year, the generosity of our residents is greater than ever, especially when it comes to brightening a child's Christmas," said Mayor Mufi Hannemann. "The City is happy to make it convenient for people to donate to the Toys for Tots program."

Since 1947, the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program has fulfilled the wishes of millions of disadvantaged children during the holidays, reinforcing the joy and true meaning of Christmas giving and sharing.

TheBoat connects Leeward Oahu from Kalaeloa Harbor to downtown Honolulu at Aloha Tower Marketplace's Pier 9. A ride costs $2, which includes two bus transfers. Because TheBoat is part of TheBus system, riders can use their bus passes.
