Strong winds on Haleakala summit

A cold front approaching Hawaii from the northwest is expected to bring strong winds to the summit of Haleakala today. Forecasters at the National Weather Service have issued a win advisory until 6 a.m. Monday, with winds expected to reach 30 to 35 mph by early this morning.A wind advisory means winds of 309 to 39 mph are expected and will make for difficult driving, particularly for high-profile vehicles.
