QB Brennan named UH's most valuable player

Quarterback Colt Brennan was named the winner of the Alec Waterhouse Award as the University of Hawai'i football team's most valuable player for the 2007 season.More than 1,100 attended the annual team banquet tonight at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.
Brennan led the Warriors to an unbeaten regular season and a berth in the Jan. 1 Sugar Bowl.
Defensive tackle Michael Lafaele, who has played despite a variety of injuries, was named the Ben Yee Most Inspirational Award.
The Captains Awards went to left guard Hercules Satele (offense), linebacker Adam Leonard (defense) and Guyton Galdeira (special teams).
The Warrior Club awards went to Brennan, Leonard and linebacker Timo Paepule (special teams).
Honored as the top scouts were quarterback Jake Santos (offense), defensive end Elliot Purcell (defense) and Kenny Estes (special teams).
