High surf advisory for north, west shores

Advertiser Staff

The high surf warning for north and west shores has been downgraded to a high surf advisory for north- and west-facing shores until 4 p.m. today.

Surf along north-facing shores will be lowering to 15 to 20 feet today, and surf along west-facing shores will be diminishing to 10 to 15 feet.

Surf along eastern and southern shores will be much more tame, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast. Surf will be 2 to 4 feet along eastern shores and 3 feet or less along south shores.

Forecasters as the weather service said a series of northwest swells will maintain surf at advisory levels and occasionally warning levels along north and west facing shores through Wednesday. Surf will remain near the warning threshold along north facing shores Thursday when a new north swell arrives.
