Another big game for Rivers

If it's a big game for the University of Hawai'i football team, expect Jason Rivers to come up big.
Last night was no exception.
Rivers was the go-to receiver in the Warriors' 35-28 victory over Washington last night at Aloha Stadium that clinched an undefeated regular season.
The senior caught 14 passes for 167 yards and four touchdowns, helping the Warriors rally from a 21-point deficit.
"I expect nothing less from myself and my teammates," Rivers said. "Me being a senior, I wanted to do something special."
In truth, Rivers has been special throughout his three seasons at UH.
His 3,814 receiving yards is first in school history, and his 282 receptions is second.
Last night, he made two spectacular touchdown receptions in the second half, when the Warriors caught the Huskies.
In the third quarter, he made a leaping catch in the corner of the end zone from 13 yards out, but was initially ruled out of bounds. But a video review of the play showed that Rivers was in the end zone, and he was awarded the touchdown.
"I knew I was in because when I turned ... I knew I was way inside," he said. "Colt (Brennan) did a good job of finding me."
Then midway through the fourth quarter, Rivers sprinted past Washington safety Darin Harris for a 40-yard touchdown strike. That score tied the game at 28 with 8:01 remaining, and gave the Warriors the momentum they needed for the victory.
"We were waiting for that call," Rivers said.
It was the only time during the game that the Warriors attempted a deep pass. Rivers' first two touchdown receptions were for 7 and 3 yards, respectively.
"They were giving us a lot of stuff underneath," Rivers said. "So we took it. But we knew it would open up later, and it did. I just ran straight and Colt got it to me."
The 14 receptions and four touchdowns both tied career highs for Rivers.
This season, he has 82 receptions for 1,069 yards and a team-high 13 receiving touchdowns. Last night, he became the third UH receiver to reach 1,000 yards this season (Davone Bess and Ryan Grice-Mullins already had 1,000 yards prior to last night).
Rivers is no stranger to setting records in meaningful games.
In last season's Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl victory, Rivers caught 14 passes for an NCAA record 308 yards against Arizona State.
As a sophomore, Rivers had 11 catches for 148 yards in the Hawai'i Bowl win against Alabama-Birmingham.
As a freshman, he had seven receptions for 143 yards and three touchdowns in the Hawai'i Bowl victory over Houston.
"It means a lot," he said of his "Senior Night" game. "I don't know if I'm ever going to play in front of my family and friends again. It means a lot to go out on this kind of note."
