High surf washes across highway in Makaha

Advertiser Staff

Police have requested traffic control assistance from the Department of Emergency Management due to high surf washing over Farrington Highway at Kea'au Beach Park in Makaha.

Three volunteers have been sent to the site, said John Cummings, emergency management spokesman.

The high surf is expected to last into the night, but low tides have minimized the impact, Cummings said.

Police reported water over the road but not a lot of debris, he said.
