2 Hawaii restaurants fined for selling liquor to minors

Kikuya Japanese Restaurant and Royal Yakiniku Restaurant each were fined $1,000 by the Honolulu Liquor Commission last week for selling liquor to minors.

At the Nov. 29 meeting, the commission also:

  • Continued until Dec. 20 case against Club Golden Gate for alleged violations that included three fondling violations; and three alleged violations of employee consumption of liquor.

  • The alleged violations by Bikini Cantina L.L.C. for selling liquor to minors was continued for one month.

    During the public hearings portion of the meeting, the commission:

  • Approved the application from S S H Investments, Inc. for the transfer of the business and Retail General license of Yung Kon Jang (dba Mona's Market) at 1414 Dillingham Blvd.

  • Approved the application from Ki Jong Han for the transfer of the business and Retail General license of Chi Young Shin (dba Huali Market) at 1611 Lusitana St.

  • Approved the application from Soon Nyo LLC for the transfer of the business and Retail General license of Hill Top Liquor, Inc. at 94-307 Farrington Hwy., #A-1A and for a change of trade name to Hill Top Grocery & Liquor.

  • Approved the application from YOUNGJUN, Inc. for the transfer of the business and Retail General license of David & Kum, Inc. (dba Whitmore Mini Mart) at 1203 Whitmore Ave.

  • Approved the application from Murphy's Inc. for a Dispenser General license (Cat. No. 1 – Standard Bar) at 2 Merchant St.

  • Approved the application from Donato's Restaurants, Inc. (dba Pasta & Basta) for a Restaurant Beer and Wine license (Cat. No. 1 – Standard Bar) at 500 Ala Moana Blvd., Space 4-A (Waterfront Plaza).

  • Approved the application from Design Club Inc. for a change in category from a Dispenser General license (Cat. No. 3 - Live entertainment or Recorded Music and Dancing) to a Dispenser General license (Cat. No. 3 and 4 – Live entertainment or Recorded Music and Dancing; and Hostess) at 2119 Lauula St. and for a change of trade name to Design Club Inc.

  • Approved the application from KDJS Venture, LLC (dba Therapy Sports Grill) for a Restaurant General license (Cat. No. 2 – Live entertainment or Recorded Music and Dancing) at 7192 Kalanianaole Hwy., #D-105 (Koko Marina Center).

    During the preliminary hearings, license and requests portion of the meeting, the commission:

  • Approved the application from Aquamarine (Waikiki), LLC (dba Hoku Nai'a) for a Tour or Cruise Vessel license at Waianae Boat Harbor, Berth #TB1, and at Kewalo Basin, Slip X.
