Hawaii Superferry to realign with Kahului Barge

Weather permitting, the Hawaii Superferry is scheduled to arrive in Kahului Harbor tomorrow morning, for the purpose of realigning the Alakai with the pier and barge, following repairs made by the Department of Transportation.

While the Alakai is in Kahului, it will also embark on a training cruise with Maui staff and crew in preparation for Thursday's re-launch of service, after which it will return to Kahului Harbor before leaving for Honolulu Harbor.

For tomorrow's voyage, the the U.S. Coast Guard's 100-yard moving security zone that is standard for large passenger ships will be in effect. The temporary fixed security zone in Kahului Harbor will not be in effect until Thursday.

The Hawaii Superfeerry will start offering daily round-trip voyages between Oahu and Maui starting Thursday. The Alakai will leave Honolulu at 6:30 a.m. and arrive in Kahului at 10:15 a.m., departing Kahului at 11:15 a.m. and arriving at 2:15 p.m.
